Built in Wardrobe Dream
A bespoke summer house was built at the end of the client’s garden in St Albans. The project included full construction of the structure, complete internal electrical works, and painting throughout, delivering a functional and well-finished space ready for year‑round use.
This home underwent a complete transformation by removing the dividing wall between the kitchen and living room to create a bright, modern open-plan space. The redesign features a multi-use kitchen island that serves as a central hub for cooking, dining, and socialising. A custom-built media wall with integrated LED lighting and a built-in storage cupboard completes the look, bringing both style and functionality to this now spacious and welcoming living area.

This project completely transformed a plain storage wall into a sleek, modern feature. Traditional wardrobe doors were replaced with concealed wardrobes hidden behind individually crafted vertical wood slats — not prefabricated panels. Each slat was cut, fitted, and painted on-site to create a seamless, contemporary look that adds both style and subtle functionality to the room.

I highly recommend the team of A-Z Property Services in St Albans. I met them by chance in 2023 when they were building a beautiful brick wall for a neighbouring property. Impressed by the work ethics and results I observed then, I asked Norbert if he would build a similar wall for me to replace a damaged railing. His quote was very competitive, the work completed in good time despite Norbert having to source unusual bricks to match an existing adjacent wall. Norbert went as far as manufacturing capping stones to match existing ones that were hard to find and very expensive. Fast forward 2 years when I moved to Kent in a house that needed complete refurbishment, I knew I could trust Norbert and Tibor. They travelled to me daily for 10-12 weeks and completed all the work from electrics, plumbing (with innovative ideas that saved me space), building work (take down of internal walls, building of new partition walls including pocket door installation, moving and fitting of a new front door), to kitchen and bathrooms installation, laminate flooring and tiling, roof repairs, garden transformation including working with a small digger… No ask is ever too small or too big, the result of Norbert and Tibor’s work is outstanding. And to top it all, they are the most friendly and hard working builders you’ll ever meet. I will be calling on Norbert and Tibor again for future needs.

Norbert and his team carried out a full renovation of my home, and I couldn’t be happier with the results. They transformed one large, tired bathroom into two beautifully designed bathrooms. They also created an open-plan kitchen and living area from what used to be a dated, separate layout — completely changing the way we use and enjoy our home. The media wall and underfloor heating were finished to the highest standard, with real attention to detail throughout. Everything was completed with care, professionalism, and absolute perfection. As part of the project, I asked if they could help me find a wall mural for my daughters’ room. My girls had very specific wishes — they wanted princesses (one blonde, one brunette), a unicorn, a rainbow, and butterflies. After going through a difficult separation from their dad, I just wanted to give them absolutely everything. I couldn’t find anything that truly matched what they dreamed of — until Norbert’s sister stepped in. She asked about their favourite colours and personally designed the perfect mural, which Norbert then installed with great care. We have been fortunate to have been recommended A-Z Property Specialist Ltd and have had a variety of excellent home & rental property maintenance work completed by them. They are particularly conscientious and they will not consider something complete until it is done 100% right. It’s very rare to find people in the trades to work hard all day with virtually no breaks, but A-Z do. Additionally A-Z is appropriately named as they are very capable of all aspects of property maintenance work covering tiling, plumbing, plastering, decorating, electrics, carpentry, fencing & carpentry, whether on major projects or smaller jobs.
